Currently the Polytechnic has five (5) schools and two (2) Pre-ND Programmes. The schools, departments and programmes offered in the Polytechnic and their entry requirements are as indicated below:

1. SCHOOL OF SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY

PROGRAMMES:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Credit passes in English Lang, mathematics, chemistry, and anyone from the following; Biology/health science/agricultural science, physics, economics/commerce, technical drawing, additional/further mathematics, home economics, food and nutrition, geography. At least a pass in PHYSICS may be considered.

B. DEPARTMENT OF NUTRITION AND DIETETICS

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Credit passes in English Lang, mathematics, chemistry, and any one from the following; biology/ Agric. Science/ health science, food & nutrition, economics/commerce, physics, home management.

C. DEPARTMENT OF HOME AND RURAL ECONOMICS

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Credit passes in English Lang, mathematics, home economics/food &nutrition and any one from the following: Agric. Science/biology, government, business maths, economics/commerce, religious knowledge, any Nigerian language, geography, book keeping & principles of accounts, history, clothing & textile.

D. DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Credit passes in Mathematics, English language, and any two subjects from: physics, biology/agricultural science/health science/chemistry and one subject from technical drawing, metal and wood work, geography, further mathematics, art and English language. At least a pass in each of the three basic science biology, chemistry and physics is compulsory.

E. DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE & STATISTICS

PROGRAMMES:

- COMPUTER SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY ND/HND
- STATISTICS ND/HND

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Credit passes in English language, mathematics, a basic science and any one other subject from the following: economics, statistics, geography,  government/history, further maths, physics, chemistry, biology, agricultural science, typewriting. At least a pass in physics is compulsory.

F. DEPARTMENT OF HOSPITALITY MGT.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Four credit passes from SSCE/GCE o’level subjects in health science/biology/agricultural science, English language, mathematics and any one from the following: geography, food & nutrition, economics/commerce, physics, chemistry, Nigerian language, home economics, government, business method, book keeping & principles of accounting, home mgt. French language.
 

2. SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY.

PROGRAMME:

A. DEPARTMENT OF CROP PRODUCTION & SOIL SCIENCE

PROGRAMMES:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Four credit passes from SSCE/GCE O’level subjects in Biology/ Agric. Science, maths, English language and any one of the following: geography, economics, statistics, physics, chemistry.

B. DEPARTMENT OF FISHERIES TECHNOLOGY.

PROGRAMME:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Same as Department of Crop production Technology.


C. DEPARTMENT OF ANIMAL SCIENCE & HEALTH TECHNOLOGY.

PROGRAMMES:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Same as Department of crop production Technology.



D. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL MGT. & EXTENSION.

PROGRAMME:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

1. Completion of National Diploma with at least lower credit pass
2. One year industrial training report
3. Academic transcript (ND)
4. Four (4) credits from SSCE/GCE O’level subjects. Biology, Agricultural science and any other two of the following: geography, mathematics, economics, statistics, English language, physics, chemistry. At least Passes in English language and mathematics are compulsory.

3. SCHOOL OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY.

PROGRAMMES:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
The following are entry requirements for all the programmes in the school of Business Management Technology:

Four (4) credits from SSCE/GCE O’LEVEL subjects- English language, mathematics and any other two subjects from the following: Economics, business studies, Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Statistics, Geography, Government, Agricultural science, Biology.

A. DEPARTMENT OF OFFICE TECHNOLOGY & MGT.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
English language, Mathematics and any two subjects from the following:

Economics/commerce, business methods, principles of accounts, literature-in-English, geography, office practice, biology/agricultural science, chemistry, physics, history/government, typewriting, shorthand.

SAME AS BUSINESS PROGRAMMES.
NBTE requirements is Biology, Agric. Science, mathematics, and any three of the following: Geography, food & nutrition, economics, technical drawing, English language, physics, chemistry, any Nigerian language, home economics. At least pass in chemistry is compulsory.

4. SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN STUDIES.

PROGRAMMES:

A. DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING TECHNOLOGY:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Four (4) credits from SSCE/GCE O’level subjects: English language, mathematics and physics and any one of the following: economics/commerce, technical drawing/fine arts, chemistry, geography, further mathematics, wood work, biology, religious knowledge, metal work. At least pass in art or technical drawing will be an advantage.

B. DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGY.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Four (4) credits from SSCE/GCE O’level subjects: English language, mathematics and physics and any one of the following: Biology, Fine Art, chemistry, history, geography, further mathematics, economics/commerce, religious knowledge, technical drawing, business method. A pass in Fine Art or technical drawing will an advantage.

C. DEPARTMENT OF ESTATE MANAGEMENT:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Four (4) credits from SSCE/GCE O’level subjects: Mathematics, English language, a basic science subject and any other one from the following: Geography, Economics/commerce, physics, biology, chemistry, technical drawing, fine art, wood work, literature-in-English, metal work, principles of accounts and book keeping, geography.

D. DEPARTMENT OF URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Four (4) credit passes from SSCE/GCE O’level subjects: English language, mathematics, geography and any two from the following: economics/commerce, fine/technical drawing, further mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology/agricultural science, history, government, business methods/book keeping and principles of accounting. One of the two subjects must be a basic science subject.

E. DEPARTMENT OF HORTICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

1. Completions of ND with at least lower credit pass.
2. One year industrial training.
3. Academic transcript
4. Four (4) O’level credits from mathematics, English language, geography, physics, economics, chemistry, biology, agricultural science, statistics.

F.  DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Four (4) credit passes from SSCE/GCE O’level subjects: Biology, Agricultural science and any two of the following: geography, mathematics, statistics, economics, English language, physics, chemistry, at least a pass in English language is compulsory.

G. DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY TECHNOLOGY.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Same as Department of crop production Technology.

5. SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY.

DEPARTMENT AND PROGRAMMES:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Four (4) credits from SSCE/GCE O’level subjects: English language, mathematics, chemistry and physics compulsory. One science subject from chemistry, biology, agricultural science and one other subject from technical drawing, basic electronic/basic electricity, auto mechanical, metal work, wood work (for civil engineering technology), fine arts.
 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Four (4) credits from SSCE/GCE O’level subjects: mathematics, English language, chemistry and physics—compulsory, and one subject from any of the following: Technical drawing, biology, agricultural science, additional mathematics, statistics, basic electronics, metal work, wood work, fine arts, geography and economics.
